paraffin wax sectioning is available as a full day course. you will learn:

 

- the theory and practise of paraffin wax embedding     

 - the use of fixatives, dehydrating and cleaning agents     

 - paraffin wax embedding     

 - the practical use of the cambridge rocker microtome     

 - section manipulation and adherence to slides     

 - preparation of slides for staining  

 

this is an intensive course with a heavy practical content and is suitable for those who wish to acquire the skills to cut paraffin wax sections of plant and animal tissues.

 

participants are requested to fill out a simple questionnaire prior to the course to assess existing microscopy knowledge in order to ensure the programme is as relevant as possible.
