metallurgical microscopy is available as a half or full day course. you will learn:

 

- the principles of metallurgical microscopy     

 - the use of polarised light and filters     

 - the setting up of the metallurgical microscope     

 - dark ground incident illumination     

 - inverted microscope systems     

 - long distance objectives     

 - specimen measurement with computer

 

this course is suitable for those who need to use metallurgical microscopes for industrial or commercial reasons but are not microscopists.

 

participants are requested to fill out a simple questionnaire prior to the course to assess existing microscopy knowledge in order to ensure the programme is as relevant as possible.
